Welcome to My Realm! Merry Meet, and welcome to the Realm of the Goddess. My name is Moondancer, or at least that's my magickal name. I am 16 years old and live in New England, and I am Wiccan, which is another word for a Witch. I know right now some of you who have found your way to this site are thinking, "How can that be? I thought Witches were ugly old women who put eyes of newts and livers of muskrats into boiling cauldrons for magick potions that spread evil amongst the land!" or maybe some of you are thinking, "Don't you know that Jesus Christ is the one and only God, and that by forsaking him you are damning yourself to hell?" First of all, I am not evil, or old and ugly, and those ingredients in the magick potions? Those were folk names of herbs used so that no one could steal their recipes. Second of all, I don't believe in hell, or a deity of pure evil who rules there. I believe in reincarnation, which makes sense. How else would you explain people who are suffering so much after seemingly doing nothing wrong? Nor do I believe in a "one and only benevolent God" who forgives your sins so you won't suffer from them, although he really isn't that benevolent if he damns people to hell and hates witches. I believe in a Goddess and a God and although they aren't all good, they love each and every one of their children no matter what race, religious belief, sexual preference, or gender they are. I also believe that the purpose of life is to learn, and once you have learned all there is to learn then will you achieve spiritual perfection and rejoin the Goddess and God as energy, the purest form of existance. So who am I? I am a Wiccan whose purpose is to learn lessons, love others and the earth, and live a happy and successful life. |

The Pentacle This symbol of Witchcraft is used in pretty much the same way as the cross is used in Christianity and the Star of David is used in Judaism. We use it for decoration, a profession of our faith, or for magickal purposes. The five points on the star represent Spirit, also called Akasha, and the four elements, which are Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. This image, and all of my pentacles, are curtesy of Goddess.com. |
